Weekend spent well – quality time with my family in Lithuanian seaside resort of Palanga. The resort was so different in winter from what it is in summer. Without a masses of tourists we could really connect with nature and breath in fresh Baltic Sea air. With the chill of the wind we explored dunes and took a long walk along the beach all the way to Birutes hill and visited Dutch Cap (otherwise known as Olando Kepure) .
The days were still and quiet. I explored various kinds of moss and lichen attached to spruce, birch and fir trees. 40% of all Lithuanian land is covered in forest, something I just started appreciate living in the UK.
When I lived in Lithuanian I really hated the moody brown tones of long winters. However now visiting it as a tourist I really enjoyed the colour palette, it creates a sense of serenity and is so nostalgic to my soul.
