Last weekend we had a chance to enjoy a beautiful snowy day in the South of England. Snow doesn’t happen all that often in the UK, so when it does, it really is a big deal.
I love it when old Victorian houses, narrow streets with alleys or trees get covered in pure white snow. It just looks so magical and dreamy a bit like a fairy tale. The streets I walked hundreds of times get a whole new look even if just for a few days and that feeling brings so many memories from my childhood. Back in Lithuania winters used to be really cold, long and snowy. I just couldn’t help myself and had to take my camera with me and try to capture this temporary beauty and freeze it in time for my daughter’s memories.
As well as for future inspiration for my sketchbook, maybe one day I will have a chance to make a collection of jewels with tiny diamonds twinkling like snow falling from the sky and landing softly on tree tops.
It just made me think how romantic it would be to get proposed under the tree covered in snow with snowflakes dripping all around you?!
